SN6 Alpha
In February 2025, Bittensor overhauled its staking model with dTAO, a system that gives every $TAO holder direct control over which subnets receive emissions. Instead of delegating to validators, users now stake directly to subnets, and in doing so, mint subnet-native tokens like SN6 Alpha.
Staking $TAO into Subnet 6 mints SN6 Alpha at a dynamic exchange rate. The more $TAO backing Subnet 6, the greater its emission share across the network, the stronger the incentives for miners making the subnet more competitive, more capable, and ultimately, more ACCURATE.
1. Economics
i. Truth Alpha API
We plan initially to use all of the API revenue to buyback the SN6 token, thereby subsidising the mining competition. As the revenue scales and the accuracy improvement gradient slows down, we plan to gradually decrease the buyback percentage.
We will use remaining API revenue to reward:
miners proportionally to their alpha toke holdings and their accuracy
validators proportionally to their alpha holdings
ii. AION Vaults
From the 20% performance fee on the profit of the vaults that Infinite Games takes, 5% will be used to buyback the SN6 token.

2. Validator Event Bandwith
Initially the SN6 team controls 100% of the event bandwith on the subnet. As product market fit increases we plan to gradually diminish this to 50%, where the other 50% would be controlled by validators proportionally to their alpha holdings.
A validator contributing for 10% of the SN6 alpha held by validators will have access to 5% of the bandwith, meaning at any given time 5% of the events streamed on the subnet could be created by them. Validators could "bid" to increase their bandwith by increasing their alpha holdings.
3. Auctioning Signal
Different API users might request the same event or category of events, and regardless might want their event to be broadcasted quicker and be given more importance by the miners relative to other events.
All signals sold by the API will start at a baseline price that will increased through an auction for Priority and an auction for Weight:
Priority - the event with the highest bid will be processed first. In particular if clients bid for the same signal, the client winning the auction will be the first one to have their event processed and to receive the SN6 prediction.
Weight - the event with the highest weight will be the one to which miners will dedicate the most efforts. The compute bandwith dispersed among miners might be concentrated on particular events. Each event will have a weight parameter where the more weight an event has the more miners will be incentivised to forecast on it.
How to get SN6 Alpha
Install a Bittensor Wallet on your browser or mobile
Get $TAO Purchase $TAO from a supported exchange (e.g., MEXC, Binance, Uniswap) and send it to your wallet.
Stake to Subnet 6 Head to a staking UI like talisman.xyz/staking, taostats.com or another Bittensor staking interface.
Select Subnet 6 When staking, choose Subnet 6. Your TAO will be converted into SN6 Alpha at the current rate. This can be reversed at any time.
Hold SN6 Our alpha token gives you influence over Subnet 6 emissions. You can trade it back for TAO at market rate or hold long-term for exposure to Subnet 6’s performance.
